How Our Services Work

Below are some common questions asked about our services. If we do not have an answer for you here, then please feel free to contact us directly.
Question #1: Where do you provide services?

We provide services in many different counties. The location of services depends on the situation and the types of services you are using. For example: Our SOCIAL SKILLS INSTRUCTION is provided at the individual's home, in the individual's community, and so forth. Although are main office is in Ventura, CA... WE COME TO YOU!!!

Question #2: Do you have more than one office location?

Currently, we have one office in Ventura, CA. Our Woodland Hills location will support and be the main hub for North LA County Regional Center, Lanterman Regional Center, and West Side Regional Center.

Question #3: How do I get Services for my child?

Contact your local regional center and your regional center service coordinator. Ask for an evaluation for social skills instruction provided by Creating Inclusive Opportunities. Contact us directly immediately after you contact the regional center and provide us with your information and service coordinator's name.

Many regional center service coordinators may not be familiar with our services. They may even tell you that we are not vendored with the regional center. This why you must follow up your call to them by calling us.

Question #4: Social Skills Instruction - What do you do?

What we do depends on the age and abilities of the individual. Each individual has their own goals. Individuals are grouped based on age. Our groups may be integrated with typically developing persons. Instruction is home and community based. For individuals under 11 yrs old, we structure home sessions with various socially interactive activities such as MUSIC and MOVEMENT, ART, SOCIAL GAMES, BOARD GAMES, TOY PLAY, PRETEND PLAY, and so forth. Community sessions will have a theme such as, "Sports Day," or "A day at the Park." For the older children and adults, sessions are structured with more social role playing, community based activities, natural language scripts, and so forth.

Question #5: What if my child has difficult behavior issues?

All children have "difficult behaviors." We DO NOT exclude children or individuals due to having difficult behaviors. We use multiple support strategies to facilitate communication and learning during our instruction such as VISUAL SCHEDULES, SOCIAL STORIES, PECS, VISUAL CUE CARDS, LANGUAGE SCRIPTS, TIMERS, AAC Devices, and so forth.

Question #6: Do you collaborate/work with other agencies?

YES!!! We collaborate with many agencies such as BEHAVIORAL AGENCIES, SPEECH, OT, ARC, Supported Living, RESPITE and so forth.

Question #7: How does your scheduling work?

Our scheduling is flexible. We will do our best to accomodate the individuals routine or current schedule. We can also provide support on weekends.
